Japan

The Guardian

This picture was inspired by my trip to Miyajima Island, Japan while I was stationed in Iwakuni, Japan. The shrine has much in the way of artistic value. I could have shot pictures all day. There will be more to come. The original was done in Pastel 18”X24” (2014) and took almost a month to complete. Prints and Blank Greeting Cards are available upon request. Prints can be ordered in a variety of sizes but will be no larger than the original.

Castle of the Carp, Japan

This scene was inspirational during my tour of duty in Japan in 1981. The Castle is located in Hiroshima and has a moat around it with swans swimming in the water. The castle is one of the most magnificent buildings in the city. More paintings involving the moat and swans are forthcoming. Soon, look for the KINTAI BRIDGE, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.
